The Company
EarthCruiser is purpose built by EarthCruiser Overland Vehicles Pty. Ltd. a company
owned and operated by two talented individuals, Kym Bolton and Lance Gillies,
each with over 25 years experience in their respective fields.
Kym's experience in leading many GPS plotted extreme trips across the
Simpson Desert, Tanami Desert and down the East coast of Cape York proved
invaluable in the design work. The initial successful testing of the prototype
EarthCruiser included crossing 700kms of sand dunes leading to the remote
Dragon Tree Soak in the Great Sandy Desert, in Western Australia and proving
the suspension, floor configuration and functionality.
The prototype was then taken overseas for more testing and an arduous
yet exciting 27,000km trip across Russia and Mongolia which included two
crossings of the notorious 'Road of Bones', a swampy tundra track from
Yakutsk to Magadan made famous by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman in
the 'Long Way Round'.

Kym has also competed successfully in every 4x4 Outback Challenge since
its inception in 1999, the Malaysia Rainforest Challenge and the New Zealand
Winch Challenge. The experience gained from such hard core 4WD activities
is evident in the construction and longevity built into the EarthCruiser.
On the manufacturing side Lance has had 15 years experience in manufacturing
components for the trucking industry, and has carved a successful niche
in the highly competitive after-market sector, and is held in high regard
in the industry.
Lance is also highly 4WD savvy having competed locally and in Malaysia
in various 'super-tough' off-road competitions. He also owns and manages
The Queensland Winch Challenge Series of events, an extreme off road winching
competition regarded by competitors as one of the toughest events in Australia.
